Congratulations to our January Athletes of the Month – Mitra
Sampson (Girls Winter Track) and Greg Smith (Boys Basketball).
Mitra broke the indoor school record in the Shot Put, throwing 40’11.25″, at State Relays on January 18th. This was the 3rd furthest throw in Atlantic County history and the furthest throw in Atlantic County in the past 13 years. Mitra is currently ranked 2nd in South Jersey and 7th in the entire state in the Shot Put. She also teamed up with Helen Garcia to break the Shot Put Relay record at State Relays. Mitra has finished in the top 3 in the Shot Put in every single meet thus far this season.
Greg led the boys basketball team in points during the month of January. He averaged 19 points per game.
